Directional Dissipation of Heat in Building Envelope Systems

The invention relates to building systems and more specifically to improved insulation in buildings. The concept involves reduction of heat transfer through building envelope systems (wall, roof, ceiling, etc.) by passive means and without the traditional method adding thick insulation materials. Adding adequate amount of insulation in old, poorly insulation buildings is often very labor-intensive and sometimes cost prohibitive due to the major structural renovations required. In contrast, the proposed concept will not require any major structural changes. Existing buildings created before 2010 account for 66% of HVAC energy consumption that can be attributed to heat transfer through walls and roofs of all buildings, which is about 4.3 quads.
