Capability Overview
ORNL’s applied microscopy microanalysis effort provides capabilities to perform materials characterization with an emphasis on analytical microscopy of irradiated materials. This includes quantitative analysis of micro- and nanostructures to explain or predict materials performance in mixed-extremes environments. These characterization tools are available for all applied materials science problems including automotive after-treatment research, corrosion science, mechanical properties, national security and alloy design.
Equipment & Facilities
- Low Activation Materials Development and Analysis (LAMDA)
- Materials Characterization Core (MCC)
