2014 Annual Report for the Fieldable Nuclear Materials Identification System

Abstract

The Fieldable Nuclear Material Identification System (FNMIS), shown in Figure 1, will detect and characterize special nuclear material in a shielded container. Its primary application is nuclear treaty verification. The FNMIS development project transforms the laboratory-grade system (NMIS) into a compact system designed for warhead treaty verification regimes.
