Donga Kang

Donga Kang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where he works on the recovery of critical minerals. He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2025, following an M.S. (2021) and B.S. (2018) in Chemical Engineering from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.

He specializes in membranes and adsorption-based processes for separation, with expertise spanning both polymeric and inorganic materials. His research focuses on the design and synthesis of advanced porous frameworks, polymers and functional composites to enable efficient separations and energy-related applications.

At ORNL, he is extending this expertise toward sustainable solutions for critical mineral recovery and other separation challenges.
