James M. Allmond

Research Scientist - Low Energy Nuclear Physics

Conduct both experimental (Coulomb excitation, transfer, and decay) and theoretical (triaxial rotor, shape coexistence, and algebraic models) research in low-energy nuclear structure with emphasis on shapes, pairing, and single-particle evolution of stable and exotic nuclei.

Perform coincidence spectroscopy and pulse-shape discrimination techniques on large, segmented detector arrays, e.g., Si, CsI, GAGG, and HPGe. PI of CLARION2-TRINITY detector array and Project Manager of the FRIB Decay Station initiator (FDSi).
