Jay Eckles

Dr. Jay Eckles is an IT leader who joined ORNL in 2021, bringing a quarter century of experience in the IT field. He leads the Application Development division of ITSD, a collection of a dozen teams across five groups responsible for web development, software engineering, enterprise applications, artificial intelligence, business analytics, and user experience. In addition to his industry experience, he was an adjunct faculty member in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee where he taught business analytics. His past experience includes time in government/research as well as private higher education, finance, and retail.  He has degrees in Computer Science, Business, Information Science, and Education from Rhodes College, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Memphis.
