Kandi M. Newcome

Kandi Newcome, RSTD Training Professional.  I have worked at the lab for 19 years.  I have a BS in Business, Accounting, and Finance.  For 9 years I worked at HFIR in Training and developed web-based training for Reactor Operations and conducted instructor-led trainings.  I then became the NSED Training Manager, overseeing training requirements for 1000 employees and reviewed 180 Research Safety Summaries yearly, regarding all different types of research work.  I changed the processes for determining training requirements and developed an RSS Training matrix reference guide to help Principal Investigators understand when training was required for certain tasks which led to me receiving the ORNL Mission Support Award.  After 3.5 years in that position, I moved into NRPD Training, where I worked for 5 years developing macros and formulas in excel to better manage radiological worker training requirements.  I changed the process for printing certificates and tracking training entries in the system.  I now work as a Training Professional in NNFD for Radioisotope Science and Technology Division and look forward in helping this team achieve their goals. 

I am interested in learning new things, solving problems, and helping and supporting the organization as much as possible.
