Preston D. Kelly

Preston Kelly has been a Systems Engineer with the US ITER Project since June of 2020. He is a certified Engineer in Training (EIT) with 17+ years of experience encompassing the fields of requirements management, nuclear fusion, technical document authoring, proton therapy system development, verification/validation engineering, pharmaceutical/medical device compliance and testing, and quality assurance.

Mr. Kelly’s role at US ITER is to collaborate with WBS Team Leads and their engineering teams to facilitate the achievement of a successful system by ensuring technical requirements are met and all deliverables have been completed. He has worked with multiple US ITER teams on various systems, including the Vacuum system, Ion Cyclotron Heating (ICH) system, Electron Cyclotron Heating (ECH) system, Tokamak Cooling Water system (TCWS), and the Central Solenoid system. He has also served in the TPO role.

Preston is detail-oriented, yet adaptive, with strong communication, presentation, and computer skills. He is currently working towards his INCOSE CSEP certification.
