Research Associate - Large Scale Simulations

Dr. Samuel Fagbemi is a Research Associate in the Multiscale Materials group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, and a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the University of Southern California (USC). He obtained his PhD in 2020 from the University of Wyoming. Before joining ORNL, he was a senior research scientist at the Center for Innovation for Flow Through Porous Media (COIFPM) in Fort Collins, CO and then a President’s Postdoctoral Fellow (PPFP) at the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on multiphase fluid-structure interaction (MFSI) in porous media, catalytic dehydrogenation of alkanes and chemical vapor infiltration. He also has research interests in the application of advanced manufacturing and fluid mechanics in creating smart renewable packaging materials using digital twins, smart sensing technology, and artificial intelligence (AI).
