Surface Sampling Concentration and Reaction Probe

An anomaly seen in previous surface sampling probes was a notable occasional inconsistency of timing between spot sampling and signal detection. This anomaly has been characterized as the formation of plugs in eddy currents generated as a function of the intercapillary distance, flow rates, solvents, etc. Characterization and probe modification has allowed controlled plug generation, useful for transfer of materials from a surface into a liquid plug for concentration or further observation and manipulation, i.e., reaction with other materials.
