The invention provides a method for production of integral fuel elements with complete 3D freedom in geometry. The process is unique in that it offers a simple processing route to i) realize complete 3D geometrical complexity, ii) it does not result in geometrical changes during sealing/densification, and iii) requires temperatures far below what is necessary for sintering the fuel matrix materials
