Deflection Shape Fit Balancing Method

Rotor balancing is the final step of rotor manufacture / refurbishment processes. This step can be time consuming and costly, especially for supercritical monolithic rotors, impacting schedule and increasing costs. Modal balancing is a conventionally used, but it requires multiple runs and at least one high-speed run. In contrast, we use deflection-shape balancing as an alternative to the noted modal balancing, resulting in a more efficient, faster rotor balancing step with potentially fewer balancing runs.
