Low-cost, compact, portable, automatic sample changer stick for cryostats and closed-cycle refrigerators

The invention provides a low-cost, compact electromechanical, versatile, computer-controlled device that can be fitted inside cryostats, closed-cycle refrigerators, and similar cryogenic devices while carrying multiple samples. After the initial cooling, all samples remain cold and are ready for measurement. Samples are moved into the measurement position/location automatically without the need for human intervention beyond the initial stick insertion in the cryogenic device. The device is meant to save time (including cooling time) and manual labor, minimize the need for a human presence, minimize human error, and increase productivity by minimizing turnaround time. The general concept is versatile and can be adapted easily to a wide variety of existing cryogenic devices.
