Liquid Medium for Carbonization Carbon Fiber and Other Polymers

The technologies described herein provides for the High Temperature Carbonization (HTC) in the manufacturing of carbon fibers (CF). The conventional method for HTC is based in thermal radiation and this technology uses in a liquid medium. This new method will departure from the standard and usual furnace based for the HTC stage. A basic energy balance in both approaches, indicates that this new method is more energy efficient than the conventional one.
